Join a Team

Whether it's serving in hospitality, participating in the worship team, or volunteering in the children's ministry, there are numerous ways to use your gifts and talents to serve this community.

Sundays at st James

9am St James Church

Our 9am traditional Anglican service takes place in St James Church and offers a formal yet welcoming expression of worship. The service alternates between using the Common Worship and Book of Common Prayer liturgies.

10.30am St Barnabas Centre

Our informal service is where we blend contemporary and traditional elements to create a welcoming atmosphere. With a live music band leading us in worship, this service also offers children's ministries during the gathering.

7pm Service (once a month)

Encounter: Prayer and Worship is where we gather for an hour of contemporary worship, prayer, and reflection. Led by the music team from Mosaic Church, this hour–long service offers a peaceful space to connect with God in community. All are welcome.

Most Sundays, our church offers both a 9am and a 10:30am service. However, on occasion, we have a single 10am joint service. Be sure to check our EVENTS PAGE to see where we're meeting this Sunday.

Holy Communion is celebrated every week, but alternates between the two Sunday services. The weekly newsletter will indicate which service features Communion, so you can plan accordingly.

We'd love to have you join us!

St James Cafe

Twice a month, our doors open to the community for our St James Cafe. This is a welcoming space where you can enjoy a slice of homemade cake, a warm cup of tea or coffee and the chance to meet new people or catch up with friends. It's a cosy and inviting atmosphere, perfect for connecting over the simple pleasures in life.

Pub Night

Once a month, you'll find us gathered at the Harvest Moon in Thorley. This casual evening out is a chance to get to know the people of St James in a more informal setting. Whether you're new to the church or a long-time member, you're invited to join us for conversation, laughter, and the occasional pint.

Tomato Basil Soup

Souper Sunday

Once a term, we gather after our 10:30am service for Souper Sunday. This is a simple lunch of homemade soup and bread, and is a wonderful opportunity for newcomers to learn more about our vibrant church community, and for regular attendees to deepen their connections with one another.

We publish the dates and times for all our social events on the EVENTS PAGE.
